Hello London!

A few postcards of from my trip to London last week!

Hallo ihr Lieben und HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

I have promised myself a couple of years ago, after I had visited London for the first time, that I am going to live in this city one day.

At first, I wanted to go to university there. After I realized that the rent is probably unpayable for a university student and because I have already found a uni that I would love to go to here in Germany, I decided that I am going to live there for sure once I have finished Uni.

When I visited London this year, it was for a couple of reasons:
1. My friend Lena has moved to Wiltshire last month and I really miss her, so I wanted to go visit her.
2. My friend Leah and I both love London a lot and we had been thinking about traveling together for a while now.
3. We really wanted to go to Dan and Phil’s tatinof book tour and bought tickets for the show in Cardiff, which is very easily accessible by train from London.
4. London is probably my favourite city in the entire world. It is the only place I can go to and have this immediate feeling of ‘home’ and I miss it dearly as soon as I leave.

The week we spent in London was absolutely great. Autumn is probably the best time for visiting London (and for city trips in general), especially because the chilly weather feels super british and the colours are just amazing. We used the fact that our hotel was really close to Hyde Park for going on a few walks there (agenda for the next years: get a dog, move to London, go on walks in Hyde Park together). As I we all had already seen the typical touristy things, we had more time to do some other things we wouldn’t usually have had time for. We went to a cinema screening to Ed Sheeran’s concert tour film, went to the London eye after dark, went to a few restaurants, just strolled around trying to explore the town a bit further and, of course, also went to Cardiff to see Dan and Phil. The tour was awesome by the way, I’m not going to spoil anything for you, but if you love Dan and Phil, the show is definitely going to be one for you!

The trip would have ended just as greatly as it started, if it hadn’t been for the fact that Lena and I missed our plane back home by five minutes. I never thought that this would be a thing that happened to me, but the night spent in a weird hostel room (we were woken up at night by rain pouring into our room because the roof had holes in it) proved me wrong. Nevertheless, London is still my favourite city in the world.

What are your favourite cities? Where do you love to go, where do you feel home?

I hope you have a great Halloween night!

Love, Carry <3
